Is this foreshadowing of her becoming a playable character in the next touhou game?

she could make an awesome character for the fighting touhou... still, we need a couple of danmaku before we get an expansion of Hisoutensoku...

You understand that I'm going to take this as "rumour" until something solid comes up. No offence to you or anything, it's just common sense not to react to stuff until it's proven as true.

And now he's put her in Fairy Wars as an EX boss. Guess he changed his mind.

Marisa: "...you never know, maybe we'll turn immortal."

You might as well become an apprentice of Byakuren or eat Kaguya's/Mokou's liver instead, Marisa. At least then you won't turn to dust if you forget to chant all your sutras every day. And you won't have to fight messengers of Hell every 100 years.
