Yes- they're just trying to retcon these Katoki versions in like they did with Endless Waltz (to no avail). That's why they're also making a modelkit for the Deathscythe Ka now.
To no avail? Endless Waltz succeeds at retconning the Wing TV second-generation Gundams, and the currently running Wing manga succeeds at retconning the first-generation Gundams.
