What is げんかん and what is ソコデ apart from a place name?

げんかん = 玄関 (genkan), entrance, foyer etc, which you can see from EX_slowpoke's note.

I'm pretty sure that ソコデ is just そこで written in katakana for emphasis, and I've translated accordingly.

I feel you. I grew up with base heat that could top 110 (the highest I recall was 114) PLUS humidity! 86 is SPRING!
