My old library card always had the information on when you borrow books stamped on them.
Returning them late when you've totally forgotten about it is a total pain...

Look at the bright side in a few decades libraries will be mostly rendered obsolete by digital technologies.

This thought won't leave me in peace...

Patchy's answer in the first panel seems like an obvious reference to the opening scene of "Kummeli: Kultakuume" (1997). But with a line that short, it might be little more than a coincidence.

[Wikipeding "Kummeli: Kultakuume"s plot line] ... WTF?

She'll never get those if she never returns them in the first place.

Yeah...Kummeli was a tv-show made in the early nineties and it made two(?) comebacks later with poor results and imo the later shows sucked hard. They also made movies, and Kultakuume("The Gold Fever") was the first. It's about a loony guy escaping from mental asylum in order to search for his grandpa's gold in Lapland and he gathers a small posse and makes enemies of some kinda modern-day nazis. The running joke was the nickname of his grandfather, "Kyrpä-Jooseppi"("Dick-Joseph" or "Joseph the Pecker"). The humor was pretty harsh. Laughing at sissy gays, and stuff below the belt-line.

    Nope, the second.

    The Kummeli movies:

    I: Kummeli Stories (1995)
    II: Kummeli Kultakuume (1997)
    III: Kummelin Jackpot (2006)
    IV: Kummeli Alivuokralainen (2008)
    V: Kummeli V (2014—to be released 19th February)

After writing my earlier comment, I found out the TV series had featured Et saa skits, too.

I am not promising to return these ones.
Hey Patchy! I'm stopping by to borrow some books.
    You can't.
I knew you would say that!
    That's why I brought a new spellcard!
    Oh, what?
    Master library card..!
    Uh... Spark.
With this, I can borrow as many books as I want.
