    Don't know. Maybe it done for style or something. Granted I think he has had like a dozen or so color schemes throughout his toyline, with red and blue being his most recognized colors.

    This should probably be tagged as Ultra_Magnus instead. He's usually a white repaint of Optimus.

    It's different. But at least it's a neat look at what could have been. And true, the G1 designs just wouldn't have translated to live action as neatly as the more alien like look Michael Bay's loud obnoxious (but still fun) movies were.

    And to think, that during its production, various Transformers G1 loyalist and traditionalist sent death threat mails and protest notes to Michael Bay. But i had to admit, his first concept designs were ridiculous.

    I know this pic is very old. But I think the original Optimus Prime is design from 80's American COE (Cab Over Engine) semitruck (this artist modeled a 80's Freightliner truck). White cab with some color stripe is commonly style in this era.
