Just remember, they're using crayons, not markers. That means they have to use enough force for the wax to rub off on her, instead of ink just rubbing over the skin.
Maybe all the knives to the head have dulled her sense of touch?
Ya'know as lazy as Meiling is, she would probably be a very good parent. Granted she sleeps all the time but I think if a child is concerned she would very well just play with them to make them happy as much as she could.
