I still haven't tried meleeing this guy yet... mainly cuz I don't like the idea of being 'penetrated'. By anything.

If you want to try and melee him, you can just be sure to rescue Biorr and let him take all the attention. Follow with a buff and slash away while he's murdering Biorr.

Though to be honest, his moves aren't too hard to dodge.

Biorr has already been, um... sacrificed for the greater good. (Dragonbone Smasher +5, wheeee) I also hear he's not nearly as useful in NG+.

Besides, when I said mano a mano, I meant one on one - it'd only have meaning then. Good thing it's a relatively short run from the archstone...

I always thought this guy looked kind of like Sephiroth...

It really is amusing when you've already beat him and then go look around at all the bloodstains. About 3/4 of them are always dying from the grab.

I think it's that the only 'Sephiroth' vibe he gives off is that he has a giant sword. And this picture's pose. But other than that, nothing else really comes to mind.

Also Sephiroth is far too popular.

I've went mano a mano against the Penetrator... I loved/hated every second of it.
