    Context from a reddit comment:
The guy dialed in to zoom for a traffic court hearing. It was bad enough that he was telling the judge to hold on, he’s driving to a doctors appointment, pulling into the parking lot, ok now he’s stationary. The judge looked bemused and even laughed at one point. Because the hearing was to discuss the man’s suspended drivers license.

Apparently additional context is needed. The virtual court hearing was for charges related to an October traffic stop. Due to a clerical error though, the court records were out of date with indicating he had a suspended license. His license had been reinstated in 2022.

It's so surreal you would think it was some planned TV comedy segment. Hilarious than attacking a judge as if you were jumping from the third rope (which also happened too).

So things took another shift. During his hearing in court yesterday on the issue of driving on a suspended license, the judge had to pause the hearing to clarify matters of what has been reported in the press. It turns out the guy actually never possessed a driver's license, not in Michigan or anywhere else. Instead of saying his license was suspended, it'd have probably reflected better saying his privileges to drive if he was eligible had been revoked. As he only possesses a state ID (only obtainable if you do not have a driver's license in Michigan) it'd have at that time barred him for applying for a driver's license before his rights were reinstated. The judge had to schedule now another hearing on this, but scheduled in August as requested by the defense which gives the defendant time to finish the steps he's just started taking to get a driver's license.

Unfortunately though, the guy still had to be arrested at the end of the hearing, as it turns out there is still was outstanding arrest warrant for him from somewhere else for driving while his license is suspended which predates the current hearings on it.

It's funny to me that real life court cases are either routine and pretty mundane, or the definition of "the truth is stranger than fiction"
