The fact that THIS flag of all things is one of the variants is hilarious to me, given that if you went to Palestine with any of the other flags of the pool in full display you'd get straight-up killed like this guy or this guy.

I bet the artist is American. They tend to be the really clueless ones.

There's nothing 'clueless' about this, you can support Palestine from an LGBTQI+ perspective while also acknowledging that Palestine itself isn't safe for such folks, because what is shared - fighting for their respective rights - is more important.

No, there's a lot of clueless things about this. Just because two different groups are marginalized doesn't necessarily mean that they share anything in common, or that they would or should ever be allies in a conflict. Neonazis are a marginalized group, are we going to see a neonazi pride flag next? Surely they treat women and gays better than middle-eastern muslims do.
People who join pro-palestinian protests while at the same time espousing LGBT views are the textbook definition of useful idiots. The existence of Palestine as a separate state from Israel, governed by Hamas or another muslim political movement, is at its core incompatible with western liberal rights, and if you can't see that then you must've surely gouged your eyes out while rushing to blindly support anything that sounds like it could make for great virtue signaling content.

I invite you to read the wiki pages for LGBT rights in israel vs the ones in Palestine.

I'm not in favor of Israel's invasion mind you, but the lesser evil in this conflict from a western-rights-aligned point of view is still completely evil.

I'm willing to bet far from everyone involved will have such a nuanced view, and putting a rainbow flag next to a Palestinian flag in your bio feels kind of like supporting the Leopards Eating People's Faces Party

I really do not think that Palestine is at its core incompatible with Western liberal rights (same with Islam in general, as not all Muslims in the Middle East as Islamists just as not all Christians in the US are Fundamentalists), or that from a Western-rights-aligned point of view are completely evil, as Palestine as it is right now is more focused on immediate issues impacting it. When your neck is being stomped on by another power, you're generally not going to give as much weight to LGBT issues (an unfortunate reality basically everywhere impacted by conflict). But even in such a scenario, per the wiki page you linked for Palestine, it showed the PNA withdrawing a ban on LGBT groups meeting in the West Bank following backlash. If an Islamist government isn't in power, there's nothing to suggest that Palestine would be like post-revolutionary Iran in its LGBT rights after everything is said and done in Israel, or engage in the violation of Western rights. Given how Hamas has alienated parts of the traditional Muslim world with its actions too, there's no reason to assume they'd come out on top in a power struggle for power in Palestine.

I also don't think you can compare LGBT people and Muslims to Neo-Nazis in terms of marginalized groups, that's patently absurd.

No, I am comparing middle-eastern muslim extremists with neo-nazis, which is completely fair, especially given how much both want to genocide the jews. This post and this image are in support of the palestinian state, not of any random muslims. "Not a muslim" is a laughable statement to make here. We're not talking about all muslims, we're talking about a muslim country governed by an extremist sect and bordering Israel, which about half a year ago conducted a raid into Israel to kidnap, rape and kill hundreds of people (which is incidentally the immediate reason for the recent invasion, something people posting this kind of garbage often conveniently forget).

And as noted even in the wiki page you linked, there are functionally two Palestinian states, the one in the West Bank and the one in Gaza, with the latter one being the one you're talking about, the one I mentioned that has even alienated the traditional Muslim world. You can't look me in the eyes and tell me that someone supporting Palestine is also someone who explicitly supports Hamas, because they aren't one and the same - it's literally the kind of stuff Israel says to justify action on the West Bank because they push for equalizing Palestine with Hamas in Gaza (doubly so given how much Netanyahu's actions have allowed Hamas to grow in strength over the years, enabling that raid to occur in the first place and giving them justification for invasion).

The page was not about Hamas, it was about Palestine as a whole. The Palestinian Authority hates gays (and jews) as much as Hamas. They even tried banning gay activists as a whole (look into Al Qaws, for example) before having to backpedal due to huge protests. Putting the Palestine flag next to a bunch of gay flags is no different than using the flag of Saudi Arabia or Nigeria. It's a fucking joke.

And I had mentioned Al Qaws earlier, but if you were to read the page in detail, you'd find the offenses lean more towards the end of Hamas than the Palestinian Authority. If the Palestinian Authority hated gays as much as Hamas, they wouldn't have backpedaled, especially as, practically speaking, they could've just simply refused. Neighboring Jordan continues to have similar issues with police restricting LGBT people from organizing social events, despite being seen as more LGBT-friendly relative to other Muslim countries, and no one is about to say the Jordanian government hates gays (similar to how individual US states or state police pushing anti-LGBT practices doesn't mean the US federal government hates gays). So if anything, the Palestinian Authority backpedaling proves they don't hate gays as much as Hamas.

Yeah I'm sure that it's of great comfort to gay people living in those zones that they would be merely beaten up to near death and arrested instead of being beheaded, if they lived in the 10% of what remains of Palestine that is not being controlled by or doesn't support Hamas.
