Artist's commentary

  • Original
  • Years ago, I remember talking with @Minamono_lotos over twitter DMs. I had messaged her just to talk and asked how she was doing. She responded she wasn't well and was quite down. We chatted for a while and I gave her some encouragement. Not long later, she sent me this drawing that she did as a show of her appreciation.

I've never posted this art, because it was something between us. It was something special to me that served as a reminder of one of the conversations I had with my friend.

Her passing has filled me with grief I can't even begin to describe. It feels as though a part of my soul has been ripped from me, and I'll never get it back. Looking at this artwork now, it fills me with sorrow knowing I will never be able to talk to her again. Even though we spoke different languages, she made sure we could communicate with translations.

One day these feelings will heal and I will be able to smile at this art, remembering the time I cheered her up when she needed some encouragement.

For now though, I want to share with you all this piece of art to show what an incredible person Lotosu was. She was the kindest soul I had ever met, and the world will forever be more drab without her in it.

She did more for me than she could ever know, and I want to thank her for that. I owe so much to her as an artist, and a person. She truly was one of a kind.

    Thank you, Lotosu.
