Well, autos do get jammed if you don't clean them as the fouling that builds up hinders the bolt group from moving properly or sufficient gas from getting to the piston/down the tube to the bolt carrier group (for direct impingement systems). This is to say nothing of just general fouling that occurs in blowback systems around the bolt face and the general area behind the barrel. There is also when the BCG is not moved with enough force due to an over powerful spring or underpowered ammo. There also can be issues of overheating, but those plague all guns (I've used a bolt action rifle that didn't cycle properly when too warm, no joke). If you don't do something stupid (like buy from Olympic Arms, or install a buffer spring for .308 in a .223 weapon, or as with the M60, try to mix about 4 different weapons together and end up with the disadvantages of all of them) an auto is very very reliable.
I mean heck, my auto-shotgun recommends cleaning every 1000 rounds and thorough cleaning every 5000. Many auto guns can go more than that without issue.
Thing is in the context of magic none of this really would matter and is in fact completely irrelevant...funny though. XD
