I only watched the first episode, but everything was just duller and rather boring to me. The anime focused more on mundane aspects with the protagonist's relationship with other students and de-emphasized/reduced the fun and silly content I saw in the manga. The manga also seems sillier with the choice of monster designs, the anime it feels like they reused generic monster 3D models.
Show is like 0.1 to manga's 10 by art standards, and 2 compared to low 7 in storyline. Everything gets changed, from the cute cat-eared slimes to the goblins and the hellhounds (not to mention the summons).
Anime is like 'hey let's do multiple close up shots of this guy feeding the girls magic stones' for no reason at all (yeah everybody knows the director is most likely a lolicon) while in the source it only happens like once during emergency.
