Exact same happend with my brother years ago, except it was candy.

I do this when I get a glass of milk, putting the carton in the glass cupboard rather than the fridge. Same with the water pitcher.

Reminds me of when I flushed my food down the garbage and almost peed in the garbage can

I did the same thing with popsicles but also threw out my change (five or six times) and my debit card once.

This can be said for anything as long as you have an object in each hand that goes into entirely different places. With the most common place being the trash.

I once did this with a GAME in a PUBLIC TRASH CAN.

I did this with instant oatmeal once, didn't realize what had happened until I looked at the bowl I'd put the empty packet in while waiting for the water to boil.

Ever done this with computer files instead of tangible objects before?

(Fortunately you can undelete/recover files that have even been deleted [and not just dumped into the recycle bin or whichever temporary repository used by your OS], but you're SoL if the files are only in memory.)
