I think they are American sin sacks indeed!
That's why their sin word was in ENGLISH instead of the kanji.

New York isn't as bad as Japan's. I mean, Japan hires people to sardine pack people into the trains so the doors will close. New York train conductors just keep trying to close the door until people realize it's impossible to squeeze through and they have to pull out.

Kogasa will have to either wait for the next train ,take a cab ,the bus,or take the trolley.
San Fransisco actually has a very good public transit system with many options.

Thing is, he may just board the train and alight at the store they said to meet at, but does he know where to alight?

That's your idea of better? ^_- Now I have images of the NYC conductor just going "whatever" and slamming the doors closed then taking off with arms and legs sticking out of them...

Well, it's not better treatment, but it's definitely not as packed as Japan's. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STNWc7Rlpfk

This is why I like the Paris Metro system. Because people have a tendency to pack themselves in the train without help of Pushers they actually hire people to close the doors on the trains so they do not get crowded and so the train can leave on time. The result? More breathing space.

Nah, just look at their faces in panel 3. Clearly, it's par for the course for them.

There's also BART, our subway system.

I personally have never seen muni that crowded, but I usually take BART and the times I do take muni tend to be around midday.
