Hearts Near and Far
The sunset's glow shines on the two children and flashes across the medallions that adorn the young girl's hair. It is a dazzling sight, kind and moving to behold, and I feel my heart tighten even as a smile fills my face.
"You did so well, Jayme! Even Setsuna said so, didn't she?"
Macherie soothes, her words no less magical than the healing spell that flows from her fingertips into the wound of the elated Jayme. The warmth I had thought lost is here, in this place to which I have fled. For now, as I look upon this scene, I think I can allow myself a smile.
