Is there anything that Japan has not made a personification of at this point?

    This is the greatest thing.

Annotated with commentary from the website jjj14 linked, along with translation notes indicating the reasoning behind the personality traits.

    check_translation for Jibe Rerin's second sentence, 仲間を見つけてはなにかしら問題を起こすお気楽主義者。

It's actually just お気楽者, not お気楽主義者. I've taken a swing at it, but I'm still not 100% certain if it's right.

This is uncanny, because we were in class, going over this exact material when the picture was uploaded, to the hour. Quite a coincidence.

Saitokai Nin An influential person who holds power on the same level as Ooki Shin. It's said that when the two of them cooperate, nothing is impossible for them. She's always spreading lively energy to those around her. Cytokinins signal cell division, and act in concert with auxins to stimulate plant growth.
Storigo Rakuton A girl who just transferred recently. She has unique powers that other people lack. She seems to be good with machines. Strigolactone is a signalling hormone synthesized in roots in response to nutrient stress which inhibits shoot branching. It was only recently discovered as a result of advances in mass spectroscopy and NMR methods.
Sutoma Jen A glasses girl admitted in the same class as Storigo. Due to skipping grades, she's in high school despite only being 12 years old. Still, she also has unique powers. Stomagen, discovered in 2009, is a hormone responsible for controlling the density of stoma (pores for gas intake) on the surface of plant leaves.
Bura Shino Really attached to Ooki Shin. In a sense, a normal girl. She has lots of friends and always helps others out. Her true power surpasses the president's. Brassinosteroids are produced in all plant tissues, with over 50 types having been isolated, and are expressed along with other hormones in both growth pathways (where they promote cell expansion and elongation in concert with auxin) and stress pathways.
Jasmon An enthusiastic exchange student. Gets along with Echi Ren. She runs around the school grounds randomly, poking her nose into all sorts of people's business. She smells faintly of jasmine. Jasmonates, so named for having been first isolated from the fragrant oil of the jasmine plant, are cell signaling hormones involved in plant stress pathways, such as wound response, which can spread through the air as pheromones to induce defense responses in other plants. Jasmonic acid induces production of ethylene in insect and disease response and fruit ripening pathways.
Ooki Shin A school council president who strictly upholds the rules. Her authority is tremendous, and she holds influence over the entire academy. Furthermore, she is a friend to all who promotes the academy's growth and prevents it from deteriorating. Her information transfer ability is something to be reckoned with, as well. Auxins were the first of the major plant hormones to be discovered, and coordinate development at all levels of the plant.
Echi Ren An industrious poor girl. Normally, she doesn't stand out much, but occasionally she'll get caught up in her surroundings and do something clumsy. Ethylene is a colorless gas at room temperature, and promotes plant ripening and senescence. An excess of environmental ethylene, such as that given off by over-ripe fruit, can cause nearby fruit to over-ripen as well.
Abu Shijin A strange girl whose nationality and true name are unknown. Her words and actions make a barrier between herself and those around her. She doesn't get along with the optimistic Jasmon-san. Abscisic acid slows plant growth and induces dormancy in response to low water availability and other stressful conditions. Jasmonic acid, while also a stress response hormone, stimulates germination in dormant seeds.
Jibe Rerin A lovable natural airhead. She's pro-level when it comes to kicking up a fuss. A free spirit who causes one problem or another when finding friends. Gibberelins influence developmental processes such as germination and flowering. They were discovered by a Japanese scientist studying bakanae, a disease in which an excess of gibberellic acid causes hypertrophy, eventually causing the plant to collapse under its own weight.
Florigen A legendary fairy (?) recently spotted around the school. She is said to make flowers bloom in people's hearts. Details unknown. Florigen is a hypothesized hormone-like compound responsible for plant flowering. As it has not been isolated, despite having been hypothesized to exist since the 1930s, it has been suggested that it does not exist and that flowering is controlled by a combination of other hormones; however, recent research indicates that it must exist, and putative florigens have been identified in some plants.
