I'm extremely amused by Sanae using "moonspeak".

Okay, if he actually does it while still on the bus using satellite Internet or somesuch, then it's cool; otherwise, been there, done that.

Also, if you didn't watch the video in the title the first time around, go back and treat yourself to Morning Rescue as interpreted for Generation X.

    Edit:

It's literally 宇宙語 ("space language"), for the record, but "moonspeak" does rather fit.

She's literally saying "uchuugo" or universe speak-and alien in japanese is "uchuujin", universe person.
edit:and I'm three minutes late with an explanation. Whatever.

    For the sake of learning:
Basically VNC or Virtual Network Computing serves to remotely control another computer over a network.

FTP is the network to access between the client (Kogasa) and the server (her PC back at home). Just imagine FTP is like the 'self-configured' version of HTTP, for you have to input a series of command just to transfer a data.

What surprises me is in Japan they have wireless net even in public transportation.

It's not about the translation. It's funny because japanese is considered "moonspeak" here.

Yes, Glasnost is no doubt well aware, being the person who chose that phrasing for the translation...

    2 things...

    Kogasa lost her eye colors...

And what exactly is the logo of that laptop? It's quite vague to make out.

It's a Dell, dude! (no, seriously, the characters make out 'De-Ru'.)

Such are the benefits of being an author of something. Either way, it's fitting, and the community can have a laugh for catching the reference, so it's great.

...either way, I'm glad they made it. Watching people suffer is painful...

    Yup, it is possible.

Also, why didn't Kogasa do this in the first place?

Probably because its slow as hell and if your system isn't setup right or the program is crap, you can accidentally freeze the home system with no way to reset it without physical access.

Why not? 3G-powered Wifi hotspots are even on the commuter buses in my little US town.
Japan practically pioneered mobile broadband, with FOMA and such.

Less of a problem if she's got the VNC running through a VPN or other tunneling method.

    Departing Bus
    We... we made it...
G... going from an all-nighter into a dead sprint really takes its toll...
But is it okay to leave with the computer still on?
    Yep, it's fine.
    A notebook PC?
I can control the home PC through VNC and shut it down after the rest of the work finishes.
Can You Fight for 24 Hours? From a popular commercial for the health drink Regain.
    Sorry... I don't understand what you're saying...
    Moonspeak? Literally "space language".
I can transfer the original art to the notebook via FTP.
