    While not outright drinking gasoline, there are cases of people sniffing/huffing gasoline (and other volatile substances) to get highs. I recall a story of like a Chinese child who got addicted to sniffing gas until it resulted in permanent brain damage. A quick google search also brought up the children of one family in the US state of Virginia in the 80's who had to be treated for lead toxicity due to chronic sniffing of gasoline. This was while leaded gas was still legal in the US.

    I never actually huff gasoline, but I also always find gasoline to smell pleasant for some reason, so I understand.
