SAG-AFTRA union strikes asking for protection against the potential use of AI to replicate voice actor voices. miHoYo isn't directly involved but the 3rd party studio (Formosa Ocean Post) they hired are adamant on not acquiescing to the strikes.

Really? That's terrible. Not only AI can ruin image from original authors, but also ruins the real voices.

The scariest part is the companies doing AI voices are also tricking or just outright stealing the voices of people without asking for consent and then marketing their voices. One recent lawsuit a man who does voice acting only learned an AI company was selling his voice when he heard an AI version of himself on either the radio or podcast. His significant other is also a voice actress, and when they checked that company's AI voice offerings her voice was also for sale. The company apparently used a third-party to trick voice actors into doing voice work for a non-existent game project or similar, but were just after their voices for AI training.

You conveniently forgot to mention that they're trying to make all current and future Hoyo projects union-only and that Paimon's VA is harassing a Japan-based English voice actor for "stealing" Kinich from his original VA.

Also, SAG-AFTRA is like a legal crime organization (to my point of view), which I can't remember much but I remember along that only union can voice dub their games and non-union can't or pay heavy fines, they got fixed amount of something and many more.
