Ja totesin että näitä on tullut piirrettyä jo noin vuosi, sen kunniaksi Touhou + Suomimeemi.
    Kiitoksia kaikille!

    A Grand

And I realized that I've been drawing these for almost a year now. To celebrate, Touhou + Finnmeme.
    Thank you all!

Come on, Marisa, you know it take 10,000 Yen to get Reimu to roll out the futon post #515645

It's a meme joke; there's nothing more to 'get' here than there was in, say, post #729543.

Actually, 1000mk in FIM is nearly 20,000 yen, converting through Euros.

    Marisa, you can't buy love.

    You have to steal it.

And to make it even clearer, here's the translation of the scene:

    - Small coffee, please.
    - Anything else?
    - One of those waffles there.
    - That's 8 markka.
    - Oh yeah... I only have a large bill on me.

The guy gives him 2 markka.

    - And here's your change (Don't know how this translates exactly, but it's the same thing.)
    - I gave you a thousand markka bill. It was a thousand markka bill, right? A grand! Didn't I give you a grand?

See, THIS is what I wanted. I saw the video already, I just had no idea what was being said.

Hit the "CC" button in the lower right corner of the YouTube video to turn on the subs provided with the actual video.

Sorry, I didn't realize this wasn't common knowledge.

I think she's too busy dealing with the smoking addiction she picked up to play.

I tend to assume no-one's bothered with subtitles on Youtube. It's dumb, but it saves me sanity in the long run... maybe.

There is another 4koma, but it is by a separate artist. To post or not to post? (http://www.apokalauta.org/a/res/3776.html#9269)

strange, I don't think the reference was funny, but this one is.
Must be some cultural difference, like how French like to burn cars :P

-is now sad because she was given 2 marka as change

I'm not sure about the proper translation of the punchline. The original line doesn't actually specify the currency, so since they're in Gensoukyou it should perhaps be "It was a thousand yen bill".

On the other hand, 1000 yen isn't nearly as much money as 1000 markka, so the deadpan response is not as funny that way.

So after reading the comic and watching that video...

Reimu's being expressionless because she's trying to conceal that Marisa gave her a thousand markka bill? If that's the case then I would understand, but there's no conning going on here since it's a donation instead of a purchase.

But then again, memes are memes.

I'm sure Reimu will be glad now that I'm making my first donation.
It was a thousand markka bill... A reference to a Finnish internet meme.
