Rohan Kishibe Art by Shiwasu Hoshikawa (Bungo Stray Dogs: STORM BRINGER) in JOJO magazine 2025 SUMMER
"The first JoJo's Bizarre Adventure volume I ever picked up was Volume 34, 'Let's Go to the Manga Artist's House.' As a child, I had a vague interest in the idea of 'manga artists,' and that title caught my eye. I picked up the book and got hooked on JoJo.
Once, a friend pointed out that I stood in a 'JoJo pose' while reading magazines at a convenience store. Another time, I quoted a line from JoJo during an argument with my parents, which only poured fuel on the fire as they shouted, 'Where did you learn to say something like that?' That's how deeply JoJo has influenced my life.
To think that one day I'd be asked to draw Rohan Kishibe, the very character who appeared in that first volume I bought, is just beyond belief.
When I received the request email, I was overwhelmed: 'I'm so happy! This is too much!' I almost said, 'But I refuse.' That’s how much JoJo has shaped my life. When I got the offer, the world around me blurred with tears. Araki-sensei's work has always supported me, giving me words of light in life's darkest moments. I want to be that kind of person too.
This got a bit long, but the time I spent drawing Rohan Kishibe has become a true treasure of my life. If you doubt this, please read my life with Heaven's Door and see for yourself."
