Violet is a newcomer to the CH Postal Company, and works as an Auto Memory Doll—a ghostwriter for people who cannot write. Despite being a former soldier who rarely demonstrates emotions, she displays great respect for her superior in the military, Gilbert Bougainvillea. Having lost her arms and her memories of the war in addition to her memories of Gilbert's fate, she becomes an Auto Memory Doll in order to learn the meaning of the words "I love you" (愛してる Aishiteru)—the last words she can remember Gilbert speaking to her.
