in the case of magic, there are many works that show just by knowing someones name, you can do untold horrors to them. in that regard, I can actually understand where koa is coming from.
though with koa, fact she's a demon may mean if she gives her name, she will form a pact with the person she told.

Possibly Koa, this is exactly why people have fake names to tell people so they don't have to reveal their true names.

Yeah for some reason I was starting to get a small Earthsea vibe from knowing one's "true name" and how anyone who knows of it can have complete control over said person.
