Kogasa with an iris-less eyes looks weird, yet funny.

And is that a Sakuya plushie doll?

There's no wiki on it, but Ikkaku is apparently a restaurant that specializes in roasted chicken.

Actually, I have been taking notes on some of his food and tourist destinations, for ideas for the next time I go to Japan...

The notion of certain foods being socially unacceptable to eat at certain times of day is silly.
I say, if you want delicious roast chicken at 9 AM, eat it.

He could have made better use of his time in America then (they have Golden Corral in CA, right?).

Apparently some people are too "delicate" to eat such deliciousness too early in the morning. Rubbish I say. Good food is to be eaten at any time!

The idea of a buffet restaurant was completely alien to Japanese, AFAIK.

    True. However, a counterpoint.

Indigestion says hi. Some peoples' stomachs do appear to have a 'startup time' and will give them problems if they eat something heavy too soon after getting up.

Not really socially unacceptable, it's just that some stuff doesn't sit very well if you have an empty stomach, like in the morning. Also, eating heavy in the evening makes you sleepier, whereas eating light food in the evening may make your hungry going to sleep.

Of course, it depends heavily upon your stomach, but in general, food times are the way they are for a reason. :P

Never go with heavy meal if you're going to do desk work.

But go with it if you're doing outdoor activity the whole day.

A Karakasa's Tour with Kogasa Bourdain.

After reading this comic and all the above comments I suddenly feel like heading out for a huge meaty meal and plenty of cold beer.

If I eat too much before doing anything strenuous-- especially in a hot outdoor environment-- it makes me feel like I'm going to throw up. But that really has more to do with the volume of food rather than the kind.

The best time to start the activity is after you visit the loo and "bomb out" the unnecessary stuff out of your body.

    I'm so hungry.
Well, there's a place that I want to go, so let's go there.♡
    It does look tasty, though...
    Kagawa Prefecture, "Ikkaku, Dokikawa Branch"
    The next morning.
    Ugh
    Mornin'.
Kogasa...I think this is a pretty heavy meal for this early in the morning...
But I really wanted to eat here.
    Very Rich~
As long as we're in Kagawa, why don't we go and eat some udon after this?Udon is Kagawa's most famous product.
Just what kind of stomach do you have?!
