    Is that note really necessary? Sunday as the last weekday is the international standard after all.

    In Italy, it's the last weekday... uhmmm... I'm sorry for my ignorance but.... where Sunday is NOT the last day of the week? O.O

    In terms of international standard, it is the last day of the week. However, certain countries, like US, still considers Sunday as the first day. I added the note under US standard, so that may be the reason it caused the confusion. Sorry.

    Because the US does everything backwards in a vain attempt to be "Different". IMO it just ends up being hard on the born citizens in the long run.

    I found this statement odd since I've always considered Sunday as the last day. Then I realized that all the calendars around here have it first.

    The US is not the originator of the "Sunday first" week, Judeo-Christian tradition dating to the time of Constantine is. Sorry to burst your "hurf durf oh those silly merkins" bubble.

    This is really one of those "officially maybe, but in popular culture no" things, yes on a random government form Sunday might be considered "the first day", but ask any random American on the street 'what's the last day of the week' and probably 90+% will say Sunday without even a second thought.

    But Sunday isn't a weekday at all! It's a weekend!

    And in my experience most people are used to calenders that give Saturday as the last day, so that's likely the answer. <.<;

    It doesn't especially matter whether Sunday is viewed as the first or last day of the week; it's still considered part of the "weekend" in either case. The dialog doesn't say anything that requires the note.

    I don't know what messed up calendars you are looking at in the US, but in 26 years I've never met a single soul in this country (outside of certain specific Hispanic communities) who would say Sunday is the last day of the week. If anything Friday would be more likely to be confused with the last day of the week.

    I have to sort of agree with the above. I've never actually considered Saturday and Sunday as part of the week. The week to me is "Mon-Fri", with Sunday always coming first on the Calender as a herald of the coming week.

    In the U.S., most calenders have Sunday as the "first day" but not all of them. That said, I've never, ever heard anyone refer to Sunday as the first day of the week.

    I do.
    I also think of weekends as being EACH END of the week (Sunday on one end, Saturday on the other end).

    I must be very strange comparatively.

    I guess I'll have to cause a "Moses Miracle" or something...
