Come to think of it, Defense of the Shrine (a DOTA game with Touhou characters) had Kogasa with one of her spell cards act like a shield against magic, I believe it's supposed to be the Blademaster's Bladestorm (magic immunity + dmg/sec)

First panel describes made me think the artist gave kanako a beard to give her that fatherly edge.
