I'm usually opposed to genocide, but I think I'm with Sanaewife on this issue. Those guys are just too creepy.

thinking about it, it is possible that the umbrella is kogasa's true form, explaining the parents appearance, and that Kogasa, along with all karakasa obake, have the power to transfer their consciousness to the umbrella or a flesh and blood body at will, seeing as the body is easier to get around in and socializing and such

In this regard, its possible Kogasa's parent's bodies are actually off screen right now or they will appear at a later date.

Commentary in yesterday's page said that Mizuki didn't know who to use as a stand-in for Kogasa's parents since the two that would make the most sense (depending on your standpoint with fanon) were used already- Yukari's a stand-in for one of their friends and Yuuka was one for an extra.
