Only in 40k does being hooked up to life support make you even more dangerous.

Side note - The dreadnought here has a fusion of designs of the modern and the pre-heresy dreadnought.

actually that isn't true, the dread in the foreground is just a Venerable Dreadnought, usually reserved for the really important marines, former chapter masters, grand librarians, etc. while indeed the design for the venerable types is old, it isn't much older then the stock ones (like the one in the background) these are usually for notables to be interred into, great warriors, but not on the level of the aforementioned. then there are the truly rare type of dreads, the Contemptor pattern, a third taller, and twice as dangerous as the common ( i believe Lucius pattern) dreads

If Space Marine can make me commandeer a dreadnought, I will now shed manly tears.

I wonder... why do the foreground Dreadnought sported a VIII on its lefthand leg even though it has the inverted omega emblem of the Ultramarines (Legio XIII)? Or is the inverted omega some sort of a common emblem and not restricted to the Ultramarines?

It can denote the Battle Company the dread is attached to. Notice the background one has a II, its not a member of one of the Lost Legions, so it can denote it's a member of the second Company. If I'm wrong, I submit myself to the judgement of the Inquisition.
