Planned battlecruiser halted (at the time around 40% completed) under the Washington Naval Treaty. Plans to convert the incomplete hull to an aircraft carrier were scrapped after the hull was destroyed in the Earthquake of 1923.
Design B-64, by Yuzuru Hiraga, called for an enlarged Kaga with thinner belt and deck.
