The "Chengdu J-36" is a placeholder designation given to a Chinese prototype stealth fighter jet developed for the People's Liberation Army Air Force. The aircraft made its first public appearance on 26 December 2024, coinciding with the birthday of Mao Zedong.
The aircraft is very unusual in design, being a tailless flying delta wing trijet. It is speculated to be a part of the development program for the sixth-generation fighter for the PLAAF.
