Daimonji, officially known as Gozan no Okuribi (δΊε±±ιγη«), is a festival in Kyoto where five giant bonfires in the shape of various kanji characters are lit across the mountains surrounding the city. The most famous and iconic fire is the character 倧 (dai), which means "large" or "great".
