A barrier created out of any sort of energy, including magical and psychic energy. Frequently the energy produces a transparent wall, screen, or bubble, but may also be used for creating things such as surfaces for walking on. Energy barriers are a common feature in science fiction and fantasy.
Energy barriers are most frequently used to defend against attacks, but may also serve as screens restricting passage, prisons for entrapping a target, or even an attack by pushing the field of energy outward into nearby targets.
