Originally an approved Fate/stay night fanfiction intended to be the introduction for a role playing style game by Narita Ryohgo. Initially released as ''Fake/states night'' for a Type-MOON April Fools Day joke, then later rereleased in the form of a novel included as an extra with the magazine Type-MOON Ace 2. Eventually got an official light novel series and manga adaptation.
The plot centers around a Grail War faultily copied from the Third Holy Grail War in Fuyuki. The story is set in Snowfield, a fictional city in the United States located just outside of Las Vegas.
