The Imperial Russia/Soviet Union battleship Gangut (Cyrillic: Гангут) in Kantai Collection and the first native Russian shipgirl in the game. (While Verniy is the first shipgirl from the Soviet Fleet, her origin isn't Russian as she was seized as a war trophy by the Soviet Union from Japan after WWII). She is named for the Battle of Gangut in 1714.
Her real life counterpart was launched in 1911 - one year before Kongou launched. This made Gangut the oldest ship in the game upon her inclusion, later to be eclipsed by Cavour. She was completed in 1915 and served with the Baltic Fleet during World War I, though she saw only limited action. Her crew mutinied with the rest of the Baltic Fleet in the February Revolution of 1917.
