In Mystery of The Emblem Book II, Following the events of Shadow Dragon, Hardin marries Nyna and becomes Emperor of Archanea. However, he later discovers that Nyna does not reciprocate his feelings for her, which becomes the catalyst that turns him into The Dark Emperor.
