A character from the Mario series, he is one of the seven Koopalings that first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3. Ludwig appears in numerous platformers, serving as a world boss in one of the first seven worlds and also appears as a playable character in spin-offs, including Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart Tour. He served as Bowser's second-in-command before Bowser Jr. and Kamek came along.
Like his siblings, Ludwig uses his shell to attack and can be defeated by jumping on his head three times. He uses his magic wand to summon multiple blue fireballs at once, some of which can home in on the player and can also levitate. In New Super Mario Bros. U, he can now create fake duplicates of himself. He is also the most talented and most powerful of the Koopalings.
Ludwig is depicted as intelligent, precocious and cynical and is the oldest of his siblings. He considers himself the leader of the Koopalings, though the others deny it. He loves playing video games with his younger brothers and likes listening to classical music, even being a composer himself. Like most of the Koopalings, he wears spiked bracelets on each arm and has a mostly yellow skin complexion, as well as a green head. He is average height and has blueparted hair, a blue spiked shell and an overbite with a single tooth.
