A local traditional Japanese dish from Kyoto. In order to be a obanzai, at least half of the ingredients must be produced or processed in Kyoto. The ingredients for obanzai must also be in season. Obanzai heavily on vegetables and seafood and is easy to prepare. Another feature obanzai is the inclusion of ingredients that are usually discarded as waste.
