Semi-hollow electric guitar built by American instrument maker Rickenbacker in 1958 as the first model in the then-named "Capri" series of guitars, subsequently named the "300" series. The biggest factor in its rise to popularity was its extensive use by The Beatles' John Lennon during their early years, despite its lower commercial performance compared to the Rickenbacker 330, the guitar holds a strong cult following.

    Its key visual traits include:

    • Factory-default triple pickup setup with a vibrato bridge
    • More asymmetrical and edgier cutaway design compared to its closest sibling the 330.
    • Despite being a semi-hollow guitar, the majority of models feature a solid body top making it reminiscent of a solid guitar, this is due to Lennon's version being the most popular of the 325 versions (Lennon's model was within the very first group to be produced, which feature the pre-production top).
