Daemon Prince from Warhammer 40K, specifically from the Horus Heresy, he's implied to be a Daemon Prince of a yet-unborn Chaos God, hence not appearing much after the Heresy (that and getting most everything he wanted from it).
Coincidentally shares the name of Metroid’s Samus Aran. In response, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption mentions an off-screen event called the “Horus Rebellion”
