Shingeki no Kyojin (also known as Attack on Titan) is a manga by Isayama Hajime. An anime television series was produced by Wit Studio (seasons 1–3) and Studio MAPPA (season 4).
In an alternative past, humanity has been attacked by monstrous giants called Titans. What remains of humanity has barricaded itself behind a three-walled fortress-country, and any attempt at war against the Titans has ended with disastrous results. The Titans, however, were unable to breach the walls, and so humanity has lived in safety for a century. One day, two unusual Titans appear out of nowhere and destroy the gate of the outer wall. In the ensuing massacre, Eren Yeager sees his mother Carla devoured before his eyes. Swearing to eradicate all Titans, he enlists in the army alongside his adopted sister Mikasa Ackerman and friend Armin Arlert.
