XXXG-00W0 Wing Gundam Zero The first Gundam designed by the 5 scientists who developed the Gundams used for Operation Meteor. Resembling one of its lower-spec descendant units, the Wing Gundam, it also transforms into a flight form called the Neo Bird Mode and is equipped with Twin Buster Rifle, which has more than twice the power of the latter's single Buster Rifle and is capable of destroying a space habitat in a single, full powered shot.
It is also equipped with the ZERO System, an interface for achieving the "perfect victory", developed to make the pilot keep up with a machine performance that surpasses the Tallgeese. However, it seriously affects the physical functions and mental state of the pilot. Thus, a pilot without strong mental strength can't control it and will be overwhelmed by the system instead. The dangers of the ZERO System, as well as the excessive power of the Twin Buster Rifle, are the reasons why after designing the Wing Zero, it wasn't built until After Colony 195 (and it was built by Quatre Raberba Winner instead, who found the design blueprints while undergoing a personal crisis). In its place, 5 Gundams derived from its design are developed for the Operation Meteor.
It has multiple pilots in the entire Gundam Wing TV series, but its most well-known pilot is Heero Yuy, who is able to master its ZERO System and also, the most successful in piloting the Gundam itself.
The Wing Gundam Zero also appears in The Glory of Losers manga as the Wing Gundam Proto Zero, with minor changes on its design due it being designed by Katoki Hajime.
