barie (trickcal)

A character in Trickcal/Trickcal Revive.

The Pitiful Public Librarian. Barie is a junior witch tasked with staffing the library of the witch kingdom, under the witch court scribe Sherum. Barie is tormented by the careless and rough handling of the books by her peers, the frequent delinquent borrowers, and members of other races coming to the library to cause havoc. The lack of resources for running the library add to her troubles, as she is its only regular staffer. Barie is notably petite, being even shorter in stature than her fellow junior witch Levi. She has slightly different proportions and facial features from other chibis, giving her face a distinctive pudgy appearance. Barie speaks in a mumbling lazy tone giving a somewhat lethargic impression, but is surprisingly quick-witted and cunning. When accused of negligence by Sherum after a break-in at the library's top secret section and threatened with being cast into a bottomless pit as punishment, Barie is able to turn the tables on her superior, pinning the blame on Sherum and forcing her escape to the surface. Barie is also shown to be remarkably strong for her small size, perhaps from handling of heavy books and dealing with delinquent borrowers.

Barie has medium length purple hair with a small ahoge on top and a braid tied on a loop by red ribbons on the side of her head, and blue eyes. Like other witches she has dark skin, a horn on her forehead and thorny vines around her arms. Her horn is much smaller than those of the senior witches. Barie wears a simple white sleeveless shirt, a black skirt and white pantyhose. The collar of her shirt is tied with a red ribbon, and there is a round golden emblem under the collar. One of her distinctive features is a book lying face down on top of her head at all times. She wears a pair of under-rim glasses with red rims while reading, and the glasses also appear to manifest out of nowhere during dialogue when she is saying or thinking of something smart. She is always carrying a very large book with blue worn-out covers tied with vines, with paper notes and a large quill pen tucked under them. Her librarian ID card is hung from the vines on the book cover. She is shown to be wearing her glasses on the ID photo. In combat she uses her quill pen to cast spells.

Her Japanese VA is Terasawa Momoka.
