corinthian helmet

A full-face helmet that originated in Ancient Greece.

It covers the face near entirely - with the exception of the eyes, and in some cases, a slit trailing down its mouth.

And like many other helmets of this era, it may boast a plume - usually red - across its middle, called a browband.
