gm (mobile suit)

A fictional mecha that first appeared in Mobile Suit Gundam (1979).

The GM (Gundam Mass Production) is an Earth Federation mass production all-environment generic combat mobile suit based off the design and data obtained from the learning computer of the RX-78-2 Gundam more advanced prototype.

It is far less powerful and durable than the original Gundam, but much cheaper to mass produce and easier to maintain and repair.

In real life it was designed by Ookawara Kunio in the late 70s, and was inspired by the M4 Sherman tanks of World War II. The mecha was also called the Jimmy in the Genshiken anime comedy series.
