One of the most troublesome members of the SCP Foundation, along with Dr. Alto Clef and Dr. Kondraki.
He's been under the effect of the SCP-963 after being killed while touching it - any person/animal/living thing that touches 963 is possessed by Bright's soul, effectively giving him immortality. He has at least two siblings.
Due to a series of incidents revealing predatory and pedophilic behavior by TheDuckman, the author of the self-insert Jack Bright character, starting in 2022 Bright's role in the overall SCP mythos was gradually deprecated and given to Dr. Elias Shaw, before both were ultimately retooled into Dr. Lachlan Cairns (designated as SCP-8586). TheDuckman was permanently banned and most of his work removed by the community to prevent further harm to his victims.
