mobile armor

A type of mecha from the Gundam series, mobile armors are typically massive, heavily destructive, usually non-humanoid units that dwarf the average mobile suit. The term is also sometimes used to refer to the alternate forms of certain transforming mobile suits, including the Baund Doc and Methuss.

Mobile armors are depicted fairly consistently throughout the franchise's AU series. The only major exception to this is Gundam SEED, in which the majority of the mobile armors seen are more akin to starfighters.
