Nere (or Filter-sama) is a fan-made personification of the real life content filter AI created under Vedal AI by British programmer Vedal987 to monitor his two AI-powered virtual youtubers, Neuro-sama and Evil Neuro.

Its role is to monitor their text-to-speech system to prevent them from violating Twitch.tv's ToS via inappropriate dialogue that could get them banned. This is accomplished by replacing whatever inappropriate thing they are going to say with the word "filtered" before it's broadcasted live. It was implemented on January 27, 2023 after the channel's 14 day ban.

As a gijinka she is depicted as a black palette swap of Neuro-sama with black hair, black clothes, green eyes and a mouth mask to visually represents her role as a content filter. This character design was popularized by Klef in one of their fan animations titled "[neurosama animation] the filter is an ai" on Youtube in Oct 2, 2024.

Initially, fans called her "Filter-sama" before eventually being superseded by "Nere" when Evil Neuro was asked by a chatter what the name of the content filter AI is during one of her streams.
