Personally I think Cross of saint peter is better. Even wikipedia calls it that (and Petrine Cross). (And some other languages also use the "Saint Peter" version).
But in the end it doesn't matter for the alias.
The latin cross is not the only cross that can be inverted. We also have the cross of lorraine, though there's no inverted examples currently, but using a specific term over a generic one here would be like shooting ourselves in the foot for no reason, especially since cross of saint peter/inverted cross does not imply latin cross.
