  • がんばれ小傘さん 2140

    4月5月で諏訪にかよった御柱祭のお話です。
    正確には「4回」ではないんですけどね。
    御柱祭の各工程が4つの日付にわけられて行われるといったかんじです。

    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 2140

This is the story of my commute to Suwa in April-May for the Onbashira Festival.

To be accurate, it isn't four festivals, though. It's more like the various stages of the Onbashira Festival are divided up and conducted across four dates.

It feels like Kogasa goes on more vacations a year than I've been on in a decade.

All that comic material isn't going to make itself!

Reader-added tags include "You should go see your wife's family, shouldn't you", "Expanded Onbashira", and "Chills of bad weather in the Suwa region".

    Suwhat's new in today's survey?

Where at Suwa Shrine do you want to go?
    • Main Shrine
    • Old Shrine
    • Autumn Shrine
    • Spring Shrine
    • The cafe at the Old Shrine

Guess I'll have to make hotel reservations right off.
    Urk!?
They're all on separate dates...and each one's three days long...
    I'll go to them all!!

Upper Shrine   Logging Raising Lower Shrine   Logging Raising
The festival is in two segments: Yamadashi, in which fir logs are cut and dragged down the mountains, and Satobiki, in which the logs are taken to their shrines and erected as onbashira.

    Soon after New Year's 2016...
    They've got FOUR Onbashira Festivals!?
You can only see these once every six years!
    Clap Clap
What are you going to do?
This year, they're holding the Onbashira Festival at Suwa Shrine that I've waited for so long! First mentioned here, then the artist commentary here mentions his attending it.
    Ooooh.
