Aren't all the female heirs named Zelda? I think the kings journal mentioned that it was some kind of tradition.
That would only make sense if it were a strictly matrilineal succession line, they practiced a hella lotta incest, or anyone who married the king also changed their name to "Zelda". Otherwise, the king is marrying someone not of his bloodline, and therefore not named "Zelda".
